Who we are

Lobster Frock are a UK based feminist theatre company

We specialise in improvisation and play

Our genre-defying shows are always devised, new pieces that celebrate women. We are obsessed with telling stories about unsung heroines through bold sound design and visual aesthetic. Our female characters are the heart of our worlds, giving voice and presence to diverse women who need to be known and understood. Our audiences see the world from a female viewpoint to provoke change and make the everyday extraordinary.

Our work is utterly joyful, highly visual and unashamedly feminist. We jump rope through the opposing realms of silliness and  seriousness. We are inspired by real women, for real women. We make the mundane magical.

We make performance work for main house stages, studios, festivals and community spaces. We love to play with form and to create work with real women in mind.

Our projects have been supported by funding from Arts Council England. We have had residencies with Theatre Deli, The Kilden Theatre (Norway) and ARC Stockton. We were also resident artists at Stanley Arts (previously known as Stanley Halls) in Croydon. Plus, most recently we were in partnership with MOCA London,  Meet Me at The Albany and Age UK to create our latest project, The Blueprints Museum. Our debut show, The Pursuit of Success is due to return in 2024 under a new name, alongside our new community project, Blueprints of Joy and our new immersive show, OLD.
